COVID-19 SAFETY GUIDELINES

health SCREENINGS

Clients will be asked symptom survey questions upon arrival. Employee and client temperatures will be taken upon arrival. Employees must submit a COVID-19 symptom survey before arriving for work daily. Employees and clients will be sent home if they have a temperature above 100.4ºF, or if other symptoms of COVID-19 are observed. Employees will not be allowed entry if their survey reveals that they may be carrying COVID-19. Employees or students who fail a symptom screening or test positive for COVID-19 will be asked to stay home for 2 weeks from the test date, or until proof of a subsequent negative test result is provided.

FACE MASK REQUIREMENTS

Cloth face masks will be required at all times except when swimming. All participants 3 years of age and above are required to wear face masks when outside of the water. Per CDC guidelines, cloth masks will not be used while in the swimming pool, as a wet mask interferes with breathing. Water staff, instructors and lifeguards will wear face shields.

When instructors come within 6 feet of students, they will approach with the following modifications:

  • Instructors will wear face shields when above water and within 6 feet of students.

  • Instructors will position themselves and students to minimize direct, face-to-face contact whenever possible, while within 6 feet of students.

  • Instructors will remove face shields and/or come within 6 feet of students whenever necessary to prevent the risk of drowning and/or physical injury.

Gloves will be used by staff whenever cleaning or handling shared items that have not been sanitized. Face shields will be supplied to instructors and all support staff and will be used in the water while teaching.

anti-crowding measures

A variety of measures will be designed to enable families to enter and leave the facilities as quickly as possible before and after each class:

  • Families will be limited to 1 caregiver per child.

  • Families will be asked to arrive no more than 5 minutes before class, and to exit the building within 5 minutes of class ending.

  • Caregivers will be asked to bring children with their swimsuits underneath their clothes.

  • Swimmers can quickly rinse off in showers, but extended post swim showers are not prohibited.

  • You must change and exit within the 15 minute window after exiting the water.

contact tracing

If we learn that any of our students or instructors have tested positive for COVID-19 and may have come in contact with our staff or clients, we will notify all individuals who may have come in contact with the individual who tested positive.
