frequently asked questions
How do I enroll in a group lesson?
To sign up for a lesson, please email us for schedules and options. Once you have a lesson spot on hold you have one week from the day to return the online form and payment.
To send in a check, mail it to 146 Frost Street, Apt. 3, Brooklyn, NY 11211. If you pay by card there is an $8 fee per transaction. To pay cash you must have a card on file. For new swimmers the cash payment is required on the first day of lessons. If currently enrolled, it is due at your next lesson. If the cash payment is not made by the first lesson the card on file will be charged. You will receive a confirmation email once AquaBeba has received the forms and payment. At that time you are enrolled in the session. In the event that the lesson is full, we will contact you about being placed on the waiting list or registering for the following session.
What is your cancellation policy?
Registration fees and program costs are non-refundable and non-transferable after the session start date. There is a $50 cancellation fee if you cancel within 24 hours of the session start date. Please plan accordingly.
What do I bring?
Please bring a towel for you and your child and swim diapers, if your child is still in diapers. The pool location has limited changing areas, so we ask that all adults come ready to swim. This will help us to get lessons started on time, as you will not be waiting for all the people from the previous lesson to change out of their wet swimsuits before you can get into the changing area. Please try to follow this suggestion.

Do you have make-up lessons or offer refunds?
In order not to disrupt scheduled lessons, we do not offer make-ups during other lessons or refund for absences. Instead, we offer complimentary make-up lessons that are at designated times listed on the schedule. There is no need to enroll in these lessons. They are held at your regular lesson time on the final week. If you do not miss a lesson you can take it as a bonus lesson. This is the only make up option.
How do I enroll for private or semi-private lessons?
Please email us. We have limited times for private lessons. A one time lesson is $85, a package of 5 lessons is $400. If a package is purchased they are 5 consecutive weeks. A semi-private lesson is $120 for two children and $60 each additional child. We do not form these groups, they are formed by the people attending. There are no make ups if someone misses a class and the others attend. There is a one time cancellation or postponement per session. All cancellations must be made prior to 24 hours and emailed in. If not the full cost of the lesson will be charged.
How do I cancel a semi-private or private lesson?
We understand that kids get sick. For private lessons, however, we need 24 hour notice for cancellation, otherwise your lessons will go on as planned and cannot be rescheduled.
What is the complimentary make up lesson and how do I attend?
When you enroll in the program you are automatically enrolled in the make up lesson. It is scheduled on the week after the session ends at your regular lesson time. If you do not miss a lesson you are welcome to attend that lesson as a bonus lesson. These are only available for
group lessons. In the case of weather/natural disaster cancellations the scheduled make up at the end of the session will be used to make up the class.
Is this the only make up option?
Yes, the scheduled make up lesson is the only make up option. Lessons and payments are
non-refundable or transferable.
How do hold your enrollments?
We have a mailing list. It is usually sent out just after the second week of the current session we are in. Once you received the schedule you have to respond quickly with your lesson selections as we base it on whoever responds first. Some lessons do fill up within the first few minutes.
Is there a way to enroll in advance?
We enroll everyone at the same time as people are often switching levels. To ensure that the schedule does not go to Spam or Promotions please look out for it after the second week of lessons. Also we announce it on Instagram and Facebook the night before it goes out.
How do the levels work?
All of our levels are age based. Our program is designed to promote swim development through repetition and continued practice. As your child masters each skill we add more challenging exercises gradually. We find that children work best with similar aged children.
